"Animation" as a Term - Comparison of contemporary understanding of animation in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and abroad
DUDOVÁ, Anna
In the last couple of years animation has been often presented in our leisure-time pedagogy environment. Animation is generally characterized as a non-directive method but a complex description of its origin, development and application is not found in any Czech or Slovak publication. Animation in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is understood as a general term without specific determination and without specified origin in any actual animation trend. The adoption of animation comes with unclear definition and utilization in practice. The aim of the present work is to clarify the term leisure-time animation. This bachelors work deals with interpretation of the term animation. For this purpose three aspects of animation are considered: etymological, historical and geographical. The meaning and application of the term animation within pedagogy differs depending on country. We are therefore concerned with clarification of animation focused on integration of the individual into social and cultural life as well as development of internal values and leisure-time animation in commercial area.
